In remembrance of Bessie Schadee

Bessie Schadee was NVLV's President from 2011 to the 5th of April 2022

For some years already Bessie had to deal with a delicate health, which prevented her from playing an active role on the Board of NVLV: she depended on kidney dialysis.

At the end of March 2022 she finally surrendered, when she was staying at the Issoria Hospice in Leiden and the message reached her that a further continuation of kidney dialysis would not be fruitful. On the 6th of April she passed away.

We wish her son Christophe and her former husband Sylvain all the strength they need, while coming to terms with Bessie's decease and accepting this loss!

Bessie has long been active in our Network for Vital Agriculture and Nutrition (NVLV), but also contributed earlier to the Aquarius Alliance, the foundation that preceded NVLV and that was renamed to Stichting Gezonde Gronden in February 2011. There she took over the helm as a director, while simultaneously remaining president on the Board of NVLV.

Through her clarity of mind Bessie was able to mean a lot for her environment, even literally, and in spite of many an adverse wind in her life, she was always acutely aware of the new opportunities that her enterprising spirit would see rising on the horizon. In raising funds for her new projects she operated quite creatively!

As a board we are grateful for everything she did for and on behalf of our association. We will remember her steady course in the direction that she wanted, as well as the civilised and delicate ways of approaching the goals she had, for long times to come!
